Those innovative folk at the CSIRO are up to something interesting! 🌱Broccoli Coffee?
Such an curiously paradoxical idea? Of course we enjoy the turmeric and beetroot latte among other things, albeit without coffee....
The idea of using powdered veg isn't new of course, we enjoy super greens powders, matcha etc, the challenge in this case for the CSIRO appears to be in the selling point.
Perhaps they're matching the bitterness of coffee with what could be quite a strongly bitter flavoured powder? Having tried Broccoli Sprout powder before myself I can attest to the acquired taste of it.
It does seem somewhat paradoxical to pair something that is quite high in nutrients and beneficial with coffee that seems to be on the other end of the nutrient spectrum?
Of course the reduced waste and repurposing of the produce "unfit" for market is probably the best outcome!!!
