May Seasonal Update

May 08, 2024

Autumn is cooling things down here on the Sunshine Coast, and we are loving all of the new season produce available!

Here's what you can expect in boxes and at farmers markets this month.

šŸŠĀ FruitĀ šŸŽ

We are finishing the transition out of summer fruit and embracing all that the autumn and winter have to offer!

Over the next couple of weeks, we will be finished with the last of the grapes for the season.

But not to worry - our beautiful winter citrus is here and it's incredible! Our growers Neil and Tanya in Gayndah have been hard at work growing a heap of citrus that will be around for the next few months for us to enjoy. We currently have navel oranges, lemons, mandarins, tangelos, and lemonades in stock with more to come!

Apples and pears are beautifully crisp and sweet.

Please remember that as the weather cools down, fruit such as avocados and bananas will take a little longer to ripen. We've got heaps available, so be sure to stock up!

šŸ„¦Ā VeggiesĀ šŸ„•

Summer veg is slowing down, which meansĀ there will be less availability ofĀ beans, capsicums, tomatoes, cucumber, and eggplant for the time being.

Supply of potatoes, sweet potatoes, and pumpkins are abundant. Celery and orange carrots are looking great, while coloured carrots are slowing down in supply.

We are reaching peak season for brassicas, which means broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage are looking gorgeous! There are a few tastyĀ brussell sprouts around as well.

Leafy greens are becoming more plentiful as the weather cools off.Ā This includes favourites such asĀ silverbeet, choi, kale, baby spinach, rocket, cos lettuceĀ andĀ mixedĀ salad.

Ā

As always,Ā if you have any questions about seasonal availability simply shoot us a message or ask our team at marketĀ šŸ˜ƒ
